Dons Bounce Back with Strong Pitching and Offensive Performance against Fullerton

SANTA ANA - A day after being shutout, the Dons bounced back in a big way with an 11-3 win over Fullerton College. The Dons improve to 11-5 overall and 2-1 in conference while Fullerton drops to 11-5 and 1-2.

The offensive surge didn't take long to get underway as the Dons scored two runs in the first on a Frankie Nogales double before scoring two more runs in the third. The Dons added one run apiece in the fourth and fifth innings on RBI-singles by Alex Mascarenas and Garret Brown.

Finally, in the seventh inning, the Dons exploded for five runs on six hits with Daniel Martinez, Jr. getting one RBI and Cameron Baranek and Christopher Ferret getting two RBI apiece.

Fullerton put up one run in the fifth inning and two more runs in the eighth for its three runs. The two runs in the eighth were unearned following a SAC error.

On the mound, the Dons were anchored by Tyler Sloan (4-0) who allowed just one run on three hits with three strikeouts in six innings. Kyle Lazcano (1-1) took the loss for Fullerton after allowing four runs on six hits in three innings.
