Dons First Two Games against Long Beach and Cerritos Postponed Due to Rain

SANTA ANA - Due to the recent rain in Santa Ana, the Dons have postponed their first two games to later dates that have yet to be determined. SAC was to open the season against Long Beach City College today with its second game scheduled for Saturday against Cerritos College.

With the postponements, the Dons look to kick off their season on Tuesday when they host Los Angeles Harbor College on Tuesday, January 29 at 2:00 p.m. That game is followed by another home game on Wednesday when the Dons host San Diego Mesa College.

Going into this season the Dons find themselves ranked ninth in Southern California, the fourth team from the Orange Empire Conference in the Top-10. Cypress College leads the OEC teams as the number-one team in both the south and the state. Riverside City College follows at number-two in the south, tied for third in the state, while Saddleback College comes in at sixth in the south and tied for ninth in the state.

Those won't be the only opponents the Dons face in the rankings this season. San Diego Mesa checks in with a pair of ties as the Olympians are tied for seventh in the south and 15th in the state. Saturday's would-be opponent, Cerritos, is ranked fourth in south and seventh in the state.

The Dons will also take on College of the Canyons (third and sixth), Mt. San Antonio College (fifth and eighth) and Palomar College (tied for seventh, tied for 15th).

Finally, along with taking on #1 Cypress, the Dons will also face the number-one team from the north, Sierra College. Sierra's top-ranking in the north places them second on the state poll.
