Perkins, Hernandez and Perez Named All-Orange Empire Conference

IRVINE - After qualifying for the 2013 California Community College Athletic Association Softball Southern Regional Championships and a fourth place finish in the Orange Empire Conference, the Dons were awarded with three student-athletes being named to the All-Orange Empire Conference Team.

Leading the way was Alexandra Perkins who was named First Team All-OEC. Perkins ran her way into the record books as she set SAC records for most stolen bases in a season and a career while also setting the career mark for most runs.

Joining her with postseason honors are Danielle Hernandez and Sabrina Perez who were each named Second Team All-OEC. Hernandez hit .339 for the Dons in conference play while boasting a .959 fielding percentage at short stop.

Perez provided power for the Dons as five of her nine home runs this season came against OEC opponents while driving in a team-high 24 RBI during those same games. She also led the team with 25 hits while posting a .385 batting average.

The three All-OEC selections helped the Dons to a 12-9 mark in conference, placing them fourth overall. On the season, the Dons finished 26-14 while qualifying as the eight seed for the postseason.
