SANTA ANA - The women's soccer season opened its 2014 campaign with a 2-1 loss to visiting El Camino College on a late goal of a non-conference match. The loss drops the Dons to 0-1-0 while El Camino tallies its first win of the season to improve to 1-1-0.

The Warriors scored first with a goal in the fourth minute by Diana Luna who took a cross from Kendall Collard and found the back of the net.

But the Dons were able to come back in the 27th minute with the equalizing goal, scored by Syprus Ohanesian. The play started with Hannah Hollingshead who slipped a pass through the Warriors defense, finding Ohanesian who buried the shot for the Dons first goal of the season.

Unfortunately, El Camino was able to regain the lead in the 62nd minute when Kaley German scored on a free kick from about thirty yards out.

Teresa Pintor made the start in goal for the Dons as she made four saves while her counterpart, Kristyn Houts, made two saves for El Camino.

The Dons remain home for their next game as they host Cuyamaca College on Friday, September 5 at 2:00 p.m.
