SANTA ANA - For the second time this season, the Dons found themselves shorthanded against one of the best teams in the state. This time it was Santiago Canyon College (9-0-1, 6-0-0) that claimed a 2-0 victory over the Dons (2-6-2, 1-3-2).

Several times during the game, the visiting Hawks made wholesale substitutions while the injury struck Dons had just three players available on their bench. The fresh legs paid off for SCC as they tallied one goal in each half.

The first goal came in the 31st minute when Jade Anderson slipped a pass through the Dons defense to Andrea Najera who chipped a shot over the head of Teresa Pintor. The second goal, scored in the 77th minute, came when Kaitlin Gishwiller was the first to a loose ball in the box. She sent a pass back to Mandi Willis who buried the shot for the goal.

The Dons managed three shots on goal as they turned up their offensive pressure late in the game. But Odalis Elias turned all three shots away for the shutout while Pintor was forced to make eight saves for SAC.
