SANTA ANA - The Dons accomplished a pair of firsts in their 4-0 victory over visiting Norco College today. Along with scoring their first goal of Orange Empire Conference competition, the Dons (2-5-1, 1-2-1) also notched their first victory in OEC play.

Syprus Ohanesian took care of the first goal early when she headed in a Brianna Cruz corner kick in just the seventh minute of the game. Cindy Olivan extended the Dons lead to 2-0 in the 58th minute on her goal from the top of the box before Gabriela Rodriguez chipped in a loose ball in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Rodriguez's goal also came off a Cruz corner kick.

Finally, Ohanesian sealed the victory with her second goal of the match when Bereniz Velazquez slipped a pass through Norco's (2-6-0, 0-4-0) defense, freeing Ohanesian for the one-on-one shot against the goalkeeper.

Teresa Pintor posted her first shutout of the season as she turned away all six shots she faced. This was the third shutout Pintor has played in for the Dons, but the first where she was the lone goalie. For Norco, Graciela Frias made four saves while allowing four goals in 90 minutes.

The Dons will travel to Saddleback College this Friday, October 3, at 3 PM for their next match.
