SANTA ANA - The Dons improved to 6-0 to start the season, there best start in over a decade, following a 9-1 victory over Mt. San Antonio College in six innings of a non-conference game. The Dons also handed the Mounties their first loss, moving their record to 2-1.

The Dons big inning came in the second inning when they scored six runs on just three hits, including a three-run home run by Sabrina Perez. That home run was Perez' first of the season, but 12th of her career, extending her career record at SAC. The other three runs came in on a two-run triple by Paolena Comouche and a RBI-double by Alyssa Yglesias.

Mt. San Antonio's lone run came in the fourth inning, aided by an error. After Alexandrea Simmons reached on a single to left, an error moved her to second before Charlotte Foster's RBI-double scored her.

But that was the only offense the Mounties generated as Frances Campoy (3-0) kept them mostly off the bases as she allowed just four hits over six innings while surrendering just the one, unearned run.
