Kirstin Gutierrez Throws Two-Hitter in Dons 20-0 Win over Golden West

SANTA ANA - Everything went the Dons way in their 20-0 victory over visiting Golden West College on Friday. The Dons (19-6, 7-4) racked up 20 runs on 14 hits while Kirstin Gutierrez held the Rustlers (2-20, 0-12) to just two hits.

The offensive outburst began early for the Dons as they scored seven runs while sending 10 batters to the plate in the first inning. The highlight of the inning belonged to Danielle Hernandez who hit a three-run home run to centerfield, her second home run in as many games.

The Dons continued to roll in the second inning with another five runs, including a two-run double by Annie Dowling. Katlyn Harvey, Marissa Ross and Sarah McAndrew each added an RBI apiece in the inning as well.

The third inning found the Dons scoring another six runs highlighted by a two-run triple by Chantal Oelrich. Harvey added a two-run double while Natalie Wolf plated a run with a RBI-single. Ross rounded out the scoring on her sacrifice fly that scored Harvey.

The Dons final two runs came in the fourth inning with Wolf singling in Dowling before Harvey scored when Ross reached on a fielder's choice. Ross, Harvey and Hernandez each had three RBI in the game for the Dons.

On the mound, Gutierrez (5-2) allowed just two hits, one in the fourth and one in the fifth, to pick up the win for the Dons. She also struck out three batters.
