SANTA ANA - The Dons took the rubber match against Fullerton College with a 9-1 win in their final home game of the regular season. After the first two meetings were close, and both won by the road team, the Dons (31-8, 15-5) needed just five innings to claim the season series over Fullerton (20-19, 7-13).

The Dons first three runs crossed home plate before SAC even recorded a hit, and the first two were scored before the ball was even put in play. Fullerton hit the first two batters before walking the next three, with Karina Rosas and Annie Dowling each getting a RBI by drawing bases loaded walks.

Katlyn Harvey scored the third run of the game when Alyssa Yglesias reached on a fielder's choice before Sabrina Perez hit a two-run double that scored Harvey and Yglesias. Perez would come around to score the inning's sixth, and final, run when she scored when Paolena Comouche reached on an error.

Fullerton would get one run back in the second inning to make the score 6-1 on Bianca Espinoza's solo home run. But the Dons would score three more times before the fifth inning to end the game early.

Danielle Hernandez scored in the third inning when Emily Whitecavage reached on an error to put the Dons up 7-1. Then, in the fourth inning, Perez singled in Dowling before Hernandez plated Sarah McAndrew with a triple for the game's final run.

Frances Campoy (9-2) picked up the win as she pitched 2.1 innings in relief of Lindsey Esparza. Campoy held the Hornets scoreless while allowing just one hit. Esparza got the no-decision after allowing one run on two hits over 2.2 innings of work. Alyssa Felipe (11-12) took the loss for Fullerton as she allowed four runs while issuing three walks. Felipe didn't allow a hit, but also didn't record a single out.
