SANTA ANA - After honoring their 10 sophomores, the Dons went out and picked up a 4-1 win over East Los Angeles College today in a non-conference game. The win can benefit the Dons (30-8) for the upcoming playoff seedings as East Los Angeles (28-9) is currently 10th in the Southern California RPI rating.

The Dons wasted no time scoring with Emily Whitecavage leading off the first inning with a single before stealing second base. Alyssa Yglesias plated Whitecavage with a two-out single later in the inning before scoring on Annie Dowling's triple.

An error allowed the Dons third run to score in the third inning with Whitecavage scoring on the play before Dowling's sacrifice fly scored Keila Tenorio, who singled earlier in the game.

That was all the offense the Dons would need as Lindsey Esparza and Frances Campoy kept the Huskies offense at bay. East Los Angeles would score just one run, aided by an error in the sixth inning.

Esparza (9-3) got the win as she limited the Huskies to just three hits while allowing just one unearned run. Campoy came in to earn her fourth save of the season, holding East Los Angeles scoreless while not allowing a hit in the final 1.2 innings.
