SANTA ANA – The Dons closed out the week with their third victory in as many days with a 3-0 win over visiting College of the Desert. The victory was hard fought for the Dons (7-8) as they managed just three hits over the visiting Roadrunners (6-10).

The Dons first run came across without a hit in the third inning with Emily Whitecavage scoring on an error on Katlyn Harvey's sacrifice bunt. Whitecavage made it to third base before the sacrifice bunt by reaching on a walk, stealing second and taking third on a groundout by Kori Cochran.

Whitecavage drove in two more runs for the Dons in the fourth inning with a triple to right field that scored Briana Acuna and Marissa Moser. Acuna reached on an infield single before Moser reached on an error. A second error on Moser's play put her on second and Acuna on third.

Much like Wednesday's 9-0 victory, one run was all Victoria Franks (7-6) needed as she picked up the win with a complete game shutout. Franks allowed just four hits over seven innings while striking out five batters.

Myranda Libuano (3-4) took the loss for Desert as she allowed all three runs, one earned, on three hits in five innings of relief.
