Dons Place 11 Players on the All-Orange Empire Conference Team

Following their second place finish in the Orange Empire Conference, the Dons had a conference-high 11 players named First or Second Team All-Orange Empire Conference.

The 16-5 Dons finished two games behind OEC Champs Orange Coast College but edged the Pirates who had 10 players honored. Coast did, however, sweep the top honors including Coach of the Year which Don Sneddon had won each of the past five seasons.

With 11 selections this season, the Dons nearly doubled their All-Conference honors from a year ago when they placed just six players, all on the First Team, on the All-Conference list.

Leading the charge on the First Team were Garrett Wilson and Andy Peterson who were each named First Team as freshman as well. Wilson was named First Team as a starting pitcher after receiving the honor as a relief pitcher last season.

Matt Blanchard was also named First Team for the Dons as the lone relief pitcher on the list. Dylan Jones and JB Bryant rounded out the Dons on the First Team, each receiving the honor in the outfield.

The rest of the Dons starting pitching rotation, Bryan Clough and Bruce Tolliver, were each named Second Team along with Kyle Kuck at first base. Adrian Garcia and Trevor Magno were named Second Team in the infield while Tyler Madrid was named Second Team as a designated hitter.
