For the 25th consecutive season the Dons advanced to the second round of the state playoffs following their 12-0 win over San Bernardino Valley College in the California Community College Athletic Association Southern Regional Playoffs.

The Dons (31-7) sweep came behind their first shutout of the season anchored by Garrett Wilson's seven inning performance. Bruce Tolliver then struck out the side in order in the eighth inning before Travis Hawley ended the game in the ninth.

Offensively, the Dons wasted no time as they jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning. San Bernardino Valley's (21-16-1) Adam Quintana loaded the bases with two walks and a double before Konnor Armijo hit a grand slam that put the Dons up 4-0.

The grand slam was Armijo's third home run of the series and his second in consecutive at bats after he delivered the game-winning run in the series opener with a solo home run in the eighth inning.

Kyle Kuck extended the Dons lead to 5-0 with a leadoff home run in the fourth inning before Blake Walker singled in Daniel Miranda to put the Dons up 5-0. Dylan Jones followed with a RBI-double that scored Walker for the Dons third run of the inning.

The Dons extended their lead 9-0 in the fifth inning with Geoff Schuller scoring Armijo on a RBI-single before JB Bryant scored on a RBI-ground out by Trevor Magno.

Walker put the Dons up 10-0 in the seventh when he plated Schuller with a RBI-single before Kuck doubled in Bryant in the eighth to give the Dons an 11-0 lead. The Dons final run came in the ninth inning when Bryce Harrison doubled in Taylor Mata.

Wilson improved to 9-1 on the season with the win as he scattered five hits over seven innings while striking out three batters. Quintana fell to 6-3 after allowing seven runs, all earned, on seven hits in just 3.2 innings pitched.
